  • Friday August 10, 2018 8:00 AM. Friday Morning Study Sessions with Rabbi Haim Many of you have studied with me since 1991 at Leo Baeck Temple and others have joined us in this latest iteration of studying the "Rabbinic Bible" (Mikraot Gedolot) on the book of Exodus through eyes of the classic rabbinic commentators (Rashi, Rashbam, Ibn Ezra, and Rambam). The last four or five years have flown by and we have had a very special bond. I have enjoyed our time together and know the learning and fellowship (haverschaft) has grown. This August, Michael Carasick - the amazing scholar and teacher of this English version -- will publish the Rabbinic Bible for Bereshit (Genesis). This promises to be an exciting new adventure in exploring the world of Rabbinic thought and our own response to it. I am suggesting that we order together because we will get a 40% discount off the $90 pre-publication price. I would like to order on Monday, August 6. Please let me know if you would like a copy of the book by witingme at haimbeliak[at]gmail.com. I have appended a note from the publisher who is continuing the work of The Jewish Publication Society. We will begin the new sefer (a book but with religious intent) September 7 on the weekend before Rosh HaShanah. Many thanks to all of you. If you know of one or two people who might want to join us let me know. This is a good time to welcome new people to our group. I hope to see all of you this Friday morning, August 10, 17, 24, and 31 at 8 am. Rabbi Haim Dov Beliak
